An Update from Pioneer on the Lake

Pioneer on the Lake’s vital mission is to serve people of all ages in the church and the local community through camps, retreats, and outdoor ministries. This includes families, children, youth, local congregations, Christian and community-based organizations, and individuals with developmental disabilities.  Pioneer's legacy spans 79 years. We are blessed to be able to share two testimonies that relate the impact of this ministry, supported by The Chapel's Kingdom Come program:

Pioneer on the Lake to me is setting aside technology and our normal everyday chaos and regimented schedules. It is a chance to breathe, be ourselves, relax, rejuvenate, and become closer to God, our faith, and faith family! Through songs, games, programming, team service projects, free time and fellowship, we learn and broaden our faith with both old and new friends. POTL’s beautiful Lake Erie, sunsets, beach, grounds, delicious food/snacks, bonfires, fully-equipped buildings and cabins, along with our loving, caring, nurturing, and patient staff, make such an incredible impact on our retreats, picnics, and visits! God Bless POTL!! “

I have fond memories of Camp Pioneer, having first attended as a child when the camp opened in 1945. My wife and three sons also have cherished memories of Camp Pioneer. We first attended camp as a family during Music Week in 1973. As times have changed over the years, so have the camp directors, programs, and facilities. Yet, some things have remained the same. Camp Pioneer has always been a place to have fun, to learn new things, to enjoy Christian fellowship, to make lasting friendships, to recharge “one’s batteries,” and to worship God and feel His loving presence. Camp Pioneer continues to be “a warm place in the Son.” We are grateful to the folks who support this ministry with time and treasure.”

Pioneer’s ministries are designed to spread the love of God to others in all that we do. The gospel and its life-changing message is the reason we exist and is the hope that we pass along to all who walk on the grounds of Pioneer.  We are grateful for our partnership with The Chapel that has resulted in impacting 2000+ lives annually.
